When I try to connect my phone system or voice processor with the
Panasonic software, I get “can’t open USB port …”, “USB device can’t be
found… “ or a similar message.
There is a much easier way to fix USB driver issues by running the USB Driver or
re-install USB drivers with device manager under your PC’s control panel. There is

Note: Each phone system and VPS requires its own USB driver.
Phones keep ringing when I connect a KX-T7775 speaker into the door
phone port.
The connection from the RJ11 jack on the KX-T7775 power module to the door
phone port on the phone system is polarity sensitive. The problem can be
corrected by reversing the pair of wires between the power module and door
phone port.

not shown at all under slot configuration.
Remove the specific card from the slot. Delete the card from slot configuration.
Pre-install card type. Click on SD icon. Power down system and install the specific
card back into the slot. Power system back up.
If the above does not work. Leave the specific card installed. Delete the card from

When I make a call from a door phone, only one phone rings
By default, door phone ring destination is not assigned, which results door phone
to ring operator extension. To ring multiple extensions from door phone calls, an
ICD group number must be assigned as door phone ring destination.
Door phone ring destination: Select optional device -- door phone -- assign ICD
group number as door phone ring destination 2/15/06 Martin P.
Sometimes, my KX-TD7680 or 7690 cordless phones don’t ring
Assigning cordless phone extension number directly into an ICD GROUP often
causes this problem. These cordless phones (7680/7690) communicate with the
KX-TAW848 through cell stations, and therefore the communication path from the
cordless phones to the 848 is limited by the number of cell stations. The cordless
phones ringing issue often appears when the number of cordless phones far
exceeds the number of cell stations. The proper way to program cordless phones
to ring is to first assign cordless phones into a PS ring group (groups --- PS ring
group), then assign the PS ring group floating extension number into an ICD
group and finally assign this ICD group number as CO line destination.
When I tried to access speed dial, it does not call out.
When storing speed dial number of external parties, the stored number must
include CO (outside line) access code (9 or 81, 82…etc) even with direct line
access. If the external number is 1234567, you must store the speed dial number
as 91234567. This rule applies to all system speed dial, station speed dial and
speed dial key.
I tried to connect my system remotely but the program software returns
an error.
The most common issue when connecting system remotely with Panasonic
program tools is that the program tools support ONLY full function self-supporting
modems (equipped with internal processor). The program tools do not support
Win Modems. Most low cost modems or free modems included with PC's are Win
Modems.
How do I remove privacy and be able to join in on a call?
The feature, called busy override or executive busy override, allows phone users
to barge into an existing conversation by selecting the line key and dialing 3. This
feature is enabled/disabled in station COS (class of service). If a phone has a
COS (class of service), which has this feature enabled, it can barge into a call.
Call-Waiting Caller ID doesn’t work but normal Caller ID works fine.
To receive both Caller ID and Call Waiting caller ID, the Caller ID Signaling type
must be changed from default FSK to FSK (with visual caller ID).
Program instruction: select configurations – Slot – click on LCOT card and select
FSK (with visual caller ID) as Caller ID Signaling type.

shows the previous extension number.
A
• The extension number will not change while the extension is in use. When the conversation is finished, set the port to
OUS status, and then back to INS status.
Q
How do I change the extension numbering plan from 3-digit numbers to 4-digit numbers?
A
• Perform the following steps:
1. Open the 2.8.8 [2-6-1] Numbering Plan—Main screen.
2. Enter a 2-digit number in Leading Number, or change No. of Additional Digits from "x" to "xx".
For more details, see What is the procedure to modify the Numbering Plan?.
Q
How do I set a 3-digit numbering plan?
A
• There are 2 methods of creating a 3-digit numbering plan, using 2.8.8 [2-6-1] Numbering Plan—Main:
1. Set the leading number to be 2 digits, with one additional digit. This method allows a maximum of 10 extensions.
Example: Leading Number = 10; No. of Additional Digits = x
In this example, extension numbers 100 to 109 can be used.
2. Set the leading number to be one digit, with 2 additional digits. This method allows a maximum of 100 extensions.
Example: Leading Number = 1; No. of Additional Digits = xx
In this example, extension numbers 100 to 199 can be used.
For more details, see What is the procedure to modify the Numbering Plan?.
Q
What is the procedure to modify the Numbering Plan?
A
• Perform the following steps:
1. Confirm that the Numbering Plan you will change is not currently being used by any extensions (see 2.4.2 Tool—
Extension List View).
If it is being used by extensions, temporarily change the extension numbers of those extensions to that of another
numbering plan, or delete the extension number (see 2.10.1 [4-1-1] Wired Extension—Extension Settings and 2.10.8 [4-

Q
When modifying the Numbering Plan, I cannot change the Leading Number.
A
• It is not possible to use the same Leading Number for 2 extension blocks, or to use a number that could possibly
overlap with another Leading Number.
So, for example, if "2" is already set as a Leading Number it is not possible to set "21" as another Leading Number
because of the possible overlap of extension numbers.
The number you are trying to store cannot be used if it is already being used by:
• A feature number
• Another extension block
• Quick Dialing (see 2.8.8 [2-6-1] Numbering Plan—Main—2.8.9 [2-6-2] Numbering Plan—Quick Dial)
In any of these cases, choose another number.

Saving Modified Data
Q
Modified settings have not been updated in the PBX.
A
• Click Apply or OK in the sub-menu screen.
Q
Modified settings are not saved even when I press the Apply button.
A
• To save the system data files, choose Save from the File menu.
Q
If I reset the PBX directly after modifying settings, the modified settings are not updated in the PBX.
A
• When you click Apply, the settings are updated in the PBX, but are not yet saved to the SD memory card. If system data
is not saved to the SD memory card, the PBX will restore the data that was last saved to the card in the event that the PBX
is reset, or power is turned off and back on again.
Therefore, before resetting the PBX, click the SD memory backup icon to save the system data to the SD memory card.
Alternatively, exit the Maintenance Console. This automatically saves system data to the SD memory card.
Note Do not remove the SD memory card while power is supplied to the PBX. Doing so may cause the PBX to fail to start
when you try to restart the system.
Q
After reinitializing the PBX, I restored system data from a previous backup. However, some of the settings have not been
restored to their previous values.
A
• The following setting data is not saved to the SD memory card, so will be deleted when the PBX is initialized. This data
is stored in the PBX's battery backup memory.
• Incoming Call Log
• Outgoing Call Log (including Last Number Redial)
